L3: Lead Self, Lead Others, Lead the Business

Leading in today’s business climate requires knowledge of the business, the ability to make sound business decisions and the insight to master interpersonal skills. L3 offers an integrated experiential design to build leadership skills in the context of the business. Key components of the learning include:

  • Customized business simulation
  • Integration of your business strategy
  • Balanced Leadership
  • Effective decision making
  • Life/Work Patterns
  • Feedback
  • Coaching
  • Skill Practice
  • Action Journal

Customized business simulation: Participants run a company similar to yours discovering all of the opportunities to impact the bottom line. Your company data is integrated into the delivery of the simulation with key financial reports and measures.

Integration of your business strategy: As a manager, execution of your business strategy so that you can engage your employees in the business to meet objectives is critical. Your strategy is mapped to operational cash flow creating opportunities for participants to identify ways to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their role.

Balanced Leadership: Traditional learning has separated the disciplines of leadership and finance. This revolutionary approach combines the two to demonstrate how effective leadership behaviors impact the business. Demonstration of both fiscal responsibility and effective resource management create a culture of innovation and growth.

Effective decision making: At critical points in the simulation model, participants take data and turn that into knowledge to take action to improve the business. Parallels are drawn to effective decision making in your business. This decision model maps to sources of cash and movement of cash in your business.

Life/Work Patterns: All interactions have an additional influence that includes the personal filter of the participants. Personal patterns are examined and identified to help managers engage a diverse workforce.

Feedback: The feedback model offers a process of data/knowledge/action and a perspective self/others/business with steps to personalize effective feedback. Participants practice a specific business application to enhance the relevance of the learning. Knowledge of Life/Work Patterns and asking provocative questions eliminates judgment from the process and creates possibilities for innovation and growth.

Coaching: The model builds on feedback identifying opportunities to reinforce positive behavior and coach for improvement.

Skill Practice: Specific case studies relevant to your business are the basis for practice of feedback and coaching.

Action Journal: Key learning from each of the modules is integrated into personal reflection and business application.

This learning is customized to incorporate your leadership skills training and business objectives. This is classroom-based for up to 30 participants and is instructed over two days.

Additional components that can be added include:

Leadership Engagement Workshop: Two hour executive briefing sharing the models and gaining sponsorship for the learning. Manager’s role includes setting a meeting prior to the training to set expectations for the learning. An additional follow up meeting is held to discuss what specific action the participant will take as a result of the experience.

Teleclass: One hour follow-on sessions to help participants crystallize their application of knowledge in a project that will benefit the business.

One hour session with managers to coach participants to their goal.
